NEW COVID-19 protocols (June 12, 2021)

The State of Illinois has entered Phase 5 which means that all sectors of society are fully reopen. The Diocese of Joliet will follow Illinois public health guidelines and offers the following details for all church services effective June 12.

Please note the following changes to our COVID safety protocols:

Social Distancing & Masks

We are no longer required to social distance. Masks are not necessary for fully vaccinated people. Those who are unvaccinated, including children, are required to wear a mask. There will be an area—sections A, B & Chapel--reserved for those who are more comfortable social distancing. Masks are required in that section.

Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizer will be available, but not required for entering the church and/or at the reception of Holy Communion.

Capacity & Registration

Full capacity is allowed--including for meetings and social gatherings. Registration and signing in are no longer required.

Holy Communion

We will continue to process forward for communion and receive in the hand. Communion of the Precious Blood will not be available from the chalice at this time.  As always, the fullness of the Eucharist is received
from the Sacred Host.

Sign of Peace

The sign of peace will continue to be made without physical contact. Please offer a friendly wave to your neighbor.

Collection Baskets

We will continue to collect in stationary receptacles. Please look for our new collection boxes at all entrances. Thank you for continuing your generous contributions!

Holy Water

Holy Water is available at the main font. Please give us some time to get the font fully functioning.

Altar Servers & Presentation of Gifts

Presentation of the Gifts and the use of Altar Servers is allowed. Please give us some time to get this in place.

Dispensation

The dispensation to attend Sunday Mass remains in place for the time being, with the intention of providing our parishes and our parishioners the opportunity to navigate and adjust to these
new guidelines and protocols.

Doors & Parking

The back doors can now be used for entering and exiting and you may park in the school parking lot.
