Lunch Bunch Ministry Help Wanted
We are looking for ministers to take turns to help
- coordinate/organize
- find speakers or entertainment
- setup (Wednesday afternoon before the lunch)
- bake desserts
- cleanup
The luncheons are scheduled the first Thursday of the months of September – May/June. Please find it in your hearts to minister to this wonderful group of our faith community. Lunch Bunch Luncheon
St. Irene's Lunch Bunch Ministry "Picnic Luncheon" will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 11:30am in the ACL. A picnic lunch of fried chicken, salads, desserts and beverages will be served. Please join us for fellowship, fun and food.

First Friday Holy Hour
On the evening before his Passion and Death, Jesus asked his sleepy apostles to pray quietly with him in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” On September 5 at 7:00pm, we will celebrate our First Friday Holy Hour with Exposition of the Holy Eucharist and Benediction. For those who would like to extend the Hour, the parish rosary group will pray the rosary at 6:30 PM.

Knights of Columbus Bread Tag, Key, and Soda Tab Drive
The St. Irene Knights of Columbus are again partnering with SCARCE, a local environmental education group, to collect bread tags for the “Danielle Cares for Chairs” charity. Additionally, we will be collecting old, unused keys of all types for recycling. Finally, we will be collecting pull tabs or pop tops from soda cans to benefit Ronald McDonald House. All items can be dropped off at the church vestibule box on the two weekends of September 6-7 and 13-14 only. If you need further information, contact Joe at jdrk4715@aol.com.

Be Formed: The Creed
This season will run from September 12-December 10 and be facilitated by Bob Heipp. It will include weekly videos on The Creed - Part 1: The Father using the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You are invited to follow along with us this season, utilizing our workbook download. Journal along each week reflecting on God's presence in your life. For questions, contact Bob on 331-266-4422.

Hustle Up the Hill for the Homeless
September 20, 2025 at Mt. Hoy, Blackwell Forest Preserve, Warrenville. Heats 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM or participate virtually - complete the race anytime between September 20th – 27th Challenge yourself to run/walk up Mt. Hoy as many times as you can in the 30 minute heat. All proceeds from the event will go to house a family experiencing homelessness for 2 years as they transition to self-sufficiency in partnership with the Bridge Communities program.
Cost is $30 per person or $25 per person with a team of four or more. Race Day Registration - $35
